BALTIC SONG AND DANCE CELEBRATIONS tradition presented at this event: VIRTUAL REALITY FUN. LITHUANIAN CENTENARY SONG FESTIVAL

In 2018, the 20th song festival For the Sake of… (Vardan Tos...) became the highlight of the celebrations of the Centenary of the Restored State of Lithuania. Full of music, songs, dance, traditional crafts, dialects, and joyful meetings, the festival brought together thousands of people proud of their homeland to events full of joyful excitement.

Thanks to virtual reality, on 12-13 July, we will once again experience the fellowship of the song festival on the small stage of Lauksnos Festival (Theatre Square) by singing the national anthem and popular songs together with thousands of people on the Song Day and admiring the events of the Folklore Day.

We are thankful for this pastime to the Lithuanian National Culture Centre and Technorama retail chain.

CROSS-CRAFTING AND ITS SYMBOLISM IN LITHUANIA tradition presented at EXCURSIONS, CRAFT TOWN

Lauksnos Festival aims not only to present the tradition of cross-crafting, but also to draw attention to the regional features of this tradition, highlighting the uniqueness of Lithuania Minor. On 11 July, festival guests will have a chance to get acquainted with the tradition of the erection of forged iron crosses by participating in excursions led by blacksmith and museum worker Dionyzas Varkalis at the Blacksmith's Museum. On 12-14 July, craftsmen will present both forged and wooden cross-crafting, demonstrate smithery and carving crafts at the Craft Town of the festival.
